I finally met Lucille...

One of many concerts that has evaded me over the years, I finally saw B. B. King, live and in his 81-year-old glory, this past Saturday night. Nothing could have prepared me for this performance and trip down memory lane with "B". He played, talked, joked, and kept his audience enthralled for over 90 minutes. Read more about it here.

On this Shrove Tuesday, have a listen to The King of the Blues and laissez les bon temps rouler!!!

Superb. And ninety minutes???!!!! Wow. In most concerts I've seen on dvd and in the concert I saw him in back in the early seventies (believe it or not he was billed with Electric Light Orchestra) he pretty much has just come on, played for about an hour, and walked off.

I know he hasn't been in good health recently. I think he was hospitalized for a few days last month.

BBKING is a god.

Stewart: Actually, the whole performance was about 100 minutes and then he answered questions from the audience and talked for another half-hour...the man is amazing, and the horns section on his touring band is phenomenal. And ELO and BBKING??? WHOA!! Hey, thanks for stopping by!!

Travis: You said it, 'bro!

Dana: I know...I'm still pinching myself!!
